How to order a green waste recycling service

Homeowners

If you're a Brisbane house or unit owner, you can order a green waste recycling bin by:

placing your order online (houses only)
phoning Council on 07 3403 8888
visiting a Council Customer Centre.

If you're a unit owner, you'll need to get approval from your body corporate to order a bin.

Tenants

If you're a tenant, ask your landlord to order a green waste recycling bin for you.

Your landlord will need to seek body corporate approval if you live in a unit.

Council picks up green bins every fortnight, so plan your lawn mowing around your next green bin collection day. Download the Brisbane Bin and Recycling app to find your next collection day and to set-up fortnightly reminders.
Keep your green waste loose. Don't put it in plastic bags, including ecofriendly or compostable bin bags.
Cut larger palm fronds so they fit inside your green bin. You must be able to close your bin lid for collection.
Garden waste can be heavy. Do not overload your bin. The maximum permitted weight is 70 kilograms.
Only put plant (green) waste in your green bin. Don't add hoses, plastic plant pots, potting mix bags or other waste!
