Enjoy 7 days of fitness inspiration for free or cheaper than your morning coffee.
Monday - first steps
Day one - are you ready? Lace up your walking shoes and set out along one of Brisbane's walking trails to hit your 10,000 steps target. Hike from J.C. Slaughter Falls up the 1.9-kilometre Summit Track to the Mt Coot-tha Lookout. Try one of the many other Mt Coot-tha Forest tracks suited for all levels of fitness ability.
For a more urban walk, discover Brisbane's public art trails or heritage trails. Join your local Heart Foundation walking group for some extra motivation.
Tuesday - free gyms
Got your high-energy playlist ready? Press play and make your way to one of more than 170 local parks with outdoor gyms. The outdoor gyms have basic equipment for chin-ups, sit-ups, and step-ups, plus interactive cardio and resistance tools. Some equipment includes step-by-step instructions, making them the perfect free workout for anyone.
Wednesday - yoga or dance
Get through 'hump' day saying 'namaste' at one of our free or low-cost yoga lessons. The classes cater to all experience levels and will leave you feeling calm and stretched.
Thursday - pool day
After a week of workouts, switch pace and join an aqua class at one of Council's 22 local pools. We've got free or low-cost aqua aerobics, Zumba and yoga, and deep-water running classes. Most classes are free, but you'll still need to pay the pool entry fee.
If you enjoy lap swimming, some pools offer squads or stroke development classes for instruction or competition.
Friday - party day
Get your heart rate up with a dance workout class. We've got a variety of dance-style classes including Zumba®, U-Jam, line dancing, Bollywood dance and more. The best thing is, you'll have so much fun, it will hardly feel like exercise!
For something quirky, check out our dragon boating or springboard diving sessions.
Saturday - cycle or scooter
If you've got a bike, we've got cycling workshops and guided rides to help get you out and about. Our learn to maintain your bike sessions teach you how to look after your bike and keep your bike rolling. Then join the bike riding skills sessions or Wheely Fun workshops for kids to improve your riding ability.
If you are already a regular rider, go for a weekend ride along our beautiful bikeways. Check out the new 600-metre shared path connecting Schneider Road underpass in Eagle Farm to Viola Place at Brisbane Airport.
Want to try something new or out of the ordinary? Test your bike skills at one of Council's 20 BMX parks. For a leisurely cruise, take an e-bike or e-scooter along the city's newest bikeways.
Sunday - take it slow with tai chi
Easy like a Sunday morning - singer, Lionel Ritchie, knows that Sundays were for taking it slow. Finish your week with a tai chi session at Woolcock Park, Red Hill.
