School recycling service

If your school has a red bin collection service with Council, you can apply for the school yellow bin service.

For each red bin service, we'll provide:

  • a free yellow bin collection
  • a 240 litre or 360 litre yellow bin, or a bulk yellow bin equivalent (based on volume).

Apply for the service

Phone us on 07 3403 8888 to apply for the recycling service or check if your school qualifies.

After you apply

We'll assess your application and phone your school to discuss the right bin to suit your needs.

An onsite consultation and site inspection may be needed before a service is approved.

You might like to set up recycling hubs in your school and display signs. These posters will give your staff and students the confidence to dispose of waste and recyclables correctly.

User-pays: school recycling service

Brisbane schools that don’t have a waste collection service can apply online for the business recycling service. This is a user-pays business recycling service.

Waste and recycling education resources

Council offers free waste educational resources for schools. Teachers can download these free resources for use in their classrooms.
