Top tips to register your business with Council today

When it comes to supporting Brisbane local businesses, Brisbane City Council has your back! Our Buy Local initiative focuses on providing you with the support you deserve.

With our record investment of nearly $1.6 billion into the Buy Local initiative, Council continues to direct over 86% of our annual procurement spend into South East Queensland businesses (based on last financial year).

Our local businesses are the 'bread and butter' of the Brisbane economy. Council's investment helps support and protect growing local businesses in trade, transport, building and construction, food and graphic and fine art industries.

The program continues to benefit the community year on year. In 2023 we hit an exciting new record, trading with over 3000 local businesses across many industries. Our top 3 categories of contracts in 2022-23 were buildings and facilities, waste and resource recovery, and transport and civil works.
