Brisbane City Council's Suburban Business Hub is a free co-working and meeting space for Brisbane-based businesses at 16 Aspinall Street, Nundah.

At the Suburban Business Hub, you can:

  • attend free events and workshops run by industry professionals
  • talk to Council officers about our free business services
  • meet and network with other Brisbane business owners
  • make use of the hub's free facilities and equipment
  • view the Local Business Showcase and lodge an expression of interest to showcase your own products in this space.

Standard opening hours

Email the hub prior to attending as this venue periodically closes for large group bookings or business workshops.

  • Mondays: 9am – 4pm (excluding public holidays)
  • Tuesdays: 9am – 4pm (excluding public holidays)

The hub is designed to be flexible and includes a range of equipment you can rearrange to meet your needs.

  • 4 single lounge chairs
  • multiple laptop and coffee tables
  • 2 whiteboards/pinboards with lockable wheels
  • 1 wall-mounted television (with HDMI connectivity - HDMI cable not provided)

Parking and public transport

There is no dedicated car park at the hub. There is time-restricted parking in surrounding streets and unrestricted parking a short walking distance away.

The hub is located close to public transport, including Nundah station and bus services on Sandgate Road.

Drop-in or reserve a table

Small groups and individuals from Brisbane-based businesses can drop-in to the hub during opening hours for co-working and meetings. You can reserve a table for groups up to 8 people.

The hub sometimes accepts exclusive bookings for large groups. Email the hub in advance to check availability.

Request a booking - exclusive use of hub

Brisbane-based businesses, business groups or Chambers of Commerce can request exclusive use of the Suburban Business Hub for a large group, as well as extended hours use of the venue. The hub is suitable for business meetings, staff training, free workshops and presentations.

Booking requests must be made at least 2 working days before your desired date to give us time to check availability and organise security access.

If your booking is accepted, you will receive an email notification with a hire agreement which must be signed and returned to confirm your booking.

The hub's maximum capacity is 50 people. Capacity may vary depending on your purposes. The following capacity numbers are based on available equipment:

The Suburban Business Hub proudly showcases Brisbane, with a rotating window display of local, independent and artisan businesses from all over Brisbane.

If you are interested in displaying your artwork or products at the hub, email the team to express your interest.

Artist wall

Ingrid Bartkowiak

Brisbane artist and illustrator, Ingrid Bartkowiak works primarily in watercolour and her hand painted work features native flora, fauna and fungi. Inspired by botanical illustration, and the arts and crafts movement, Ingrid's technique makes use of the watercolour medium through tiny patterns, exquisite detail, and vivid blocks of colour. Since graduating from the Queensland College of Art in 2019, Ingrid has worked across a diverse array of projects, including picture book illustration, murals, packaging designs and even pet portraits.

Lava Living

2021 Etsy Design Awards finalist, Lava Living, is run by Kirsten Bailey from her studio in Brisbane where she designs and hand crafts textiles for home and body. Kirsten works with natural materials and since 2015 has focused on Shibori, an ancient, manual, resist dyeing technique from Japan. The chosen dye is usually Indigo, a naturally occurring blue dye which is traditionally referred to as 'blue gold' as it was such a valuable trading commodity in the ancient world.

Chloë Waddell

Chloë Waddell is a maker of jewellery, objects and art. Chloë creates her jewellery and artworks in her busy Brisbane studio and it is the pure love of making which drives her. Her jewellery pieces are unique artworks, with no two the same. Chloë regularly exhibits in both group and solo exhibitions and sells her work at numerous shops and galleries throughout Australia.

Box & Ho Pottery

Box & Ho Pottery is a Brisbane-based artisanal pottery enterprise founded by two sisters, Annie and Debbie Chu. Their journey into pottery began as a hobby around 2017 and subsequently evolved into a full-fledged business in late 2000. Annie and Debbie specialise in creating functional tableware, including cups and mugs, bowls and plates, teapots and vases, and more, all exquisitely and thoughtfully handcrafted. The Box & Ho Pottery philosophy is to bring a spirit of uniqueness to everyday life.
