Greener Suburbs Program

Brisbane City Council's Greener Suburbs Program is aimed at improving the clean, green feel of locations across Brisbane though increased tree planting and landscaping.

As part of our commitment to growing a greener Brisbane, we're planting more street trees in our neighbourhoods.

Shady and attractive streets are an important part of the unique character of Brisbane’s suburbs and our outdoor, subtropical lifestyle.

Planting and maintaining street trees ensures Council is caring for our urban forest and that residents receive all the benefits trees bring to our city – cooler, greener, more comfortable pathways for walking and cycling, improved air quality and shelter for our wildlife.

The suburbs selected for planting in 2019-2020 are listed below with anticipated activities and dates, weather conditions permitting.
