Brisbane tip shops

Brisbane tip shops temporarily closed

Brisbane City Council's two tip shops are currently closed to help limit the spread of coronavirus.

Donations for the tip shops will still be accepted free of charge at our resource recovery centres.

Brisbane City Council’s two tip shops are open every weekend. They sell quality used, recycled and second-hand products salvaged from landfill.

The Endeavour Foundation operates both tip shops. The foundation is one of Australia's largest non-government organisations, supporting and providing opportunities for people with a disability.

Normal opening hours are 8am-4pm, Saturdays and Sundays. The tip shop are located at:

  • 46 Colebard Street West, Acacia Ridge
  • 27A Prosperity Place, Geebung.

Items for sale

Council's resource recovery centres donate items sold at the tip shops for reuse. These quality reusable items include:

  • household furnishings
  • collectables
  • books
  • sporting equipment.

Donating to tip shops

Residents can donate quality, reusable household items at Council’s resource recovery centres. Tip shop donations from vehicles under 4.5 tonnes Combined Gross Vehicle Mass (CGVM) do not attract a disposal fee.

Ensure your donation is clean and working. On-site staff may refuse items considered not saleable.

Hop on an Eco-Thrifty Trail

Both tip shop locations are in second-hand shopping hubs. Council has northside and southside Eco-Thrifty Trail maps providing quick reference to what else is in the area. The maps are designed in partnership with the National Association of Charitable Recycling Organisations (NACRO). They include all options available within a four kilometre radius of each tip shop.

Help reuse more

Council wants to reduce the amount of waste sent to landfill by reusing and recovering valuable resources. Instead of wasting these resources in landfill, choose to reuse, share, upcycle and recycle. Find out more.
