Cemeteries and crematoria fees and charges

The cost involved in planning a funeral at Brisbane City Council cemeteries and crematoria depends on the type of service you require. Council offers a range of funeral and memorial types, including burials, cremation, interment as well as extras such as vaults and monuments.

You can also find the costs for chapel and catering facility hire. Menu options are available through your selected Funeral Director.

The costs below are effective from 1 November 2023 to 30 June 2024. All fees include GST.

Surcharges will apply for services outside of cemetery operating hours Monday to Friday 7.30am to 4.30pm.

Burials

Grave prices including one burial

Includes burial rights and first interment.

* Price includes provision and installation of standard bronze plaque with one inscription.

Catering facility

Catering Room hire is available at three Council cemeteries - Pinnaroo, Mt Gravatt and Hemmant Cemeteries

Menu options are available through your selected Funeral Director.

When ordering catering, it is important to note the following:

  • only food provided by the caterers will be permitted on the premises
  • uneaten food may not be taken from the premises
  • includes gluten free (GF) options
  • BYO beverages are not permitted
  • Where numbers exceed the original estimate of guests for catering, the caterer will approach the family contact to discuss options.

Terms and conditions

Discuss with your Funeral Director if you require any additions to the standard one-hour package time frame. Additional charges apply for room hire and staff beyond one hour.
