Community facility disaster relief

Council will provide a $5000 payment to not-for-profit community organisations who are operating from or located within a Council leased or licensed community facility that have been impacted by the recent severe weather event.

During the relief phase of a disaster recovery, community organisations (community, cultural, sport and recreation) may need immediate support to make their facilities safe, clean-up, conduct minor repairs and return to operations.

As part of the Community Facility Disaster Relief Payment program, the one-off payment will provide immediate support to impacted community organisations to make their facilities safe, clean-up, conduct minor repairs and return to operations.

Once organisations are identified, either by completing a survey sent to Council community tenants on 1 March or by contacting Council to provide details of their situation, payments will not require an application or assessment process.

Where a community organisation has several impacted tenancies, they may receive multiple payments.

Once identified, approved organisations will be contacted directly to progress the payment.
