Grants update

Brisbane City Council has prioritised funds to create the new Lord Mayor’s COVID-19 Direct Assistance Program in 2020-21. This program will support our community organisations as a result of the coronavirus pandemic.

Pathways out of Homelessness Grant Program The Program will enable new, innovative and sustainable solutions to address the growing community issue of homelessness. Up to a total of $450,000 over three years; or $20,000 to $200,000 for one year. Opens: 30 Sep 19

Community Development and Capacity Building Grants * This program will not be available in 2020-21
Funds to local non-for-profit groups to improve and develop services that respond to local and city-wide issues in Brisbane - including responding to emerging community needs or social issues.

Healthy and Physical Activity Grants * This program will not be available in 2020-21
Funds to local non-for-profit community groups for projects to increase participation in community sport, recreation and physical activity in Brisbane.

Access and Inclusion Community Partnership Program * This program will not be available in 2020-21
Funds to community organisations, groups and networks for projects or services that improve access and inclusion in Brisbane - in particular supporting people with a disability.

Building Stronger Communities Grants Program * This program will not be available in 2020-21
Funds local not-for-profit community groups to upgrade and maintain facilities and improve their management and planning skills.

Up to $100,000 for community facility maintenance and development.
Up to $7500 for organisational development.

Men's Shed Grants Program * This program will not be available in 2020-21
Supports the establishment and development of Men's Sheds in Brisbane.

Cultivating Community Gardens Grants Council's Cultivating Community Gardens Grants aim to enhance Brisbane's sustainability and liveability by providing funding to local non-profit community groups and organisations to establish, develop and maintain community gardens on Council-owned and other land. $1000 to $2500 Opens: 31 Aug 20

Native Wildlife Carers Grants The Native Wildlife Carer Grants provide financial assistance to groups and individuals involved in rehabilitating and releasing orphaned, sick and injured native wildlife within the Brisbane City Council area. $200 to $5000 To be advised.
Environmental Grants The Environmental Grants provide funding to community based groups and non-profit organisations to undertake environmental initiatives that address local or citywide community environmental issues.

Up to $8000 for operational and administrative expenses. Up to $20,000 for environmental projects.
