The QUBE Effect 2017
Brisbane City Council is set to showcase Brisbane’s best new musical talent at The QUBE Effect 2017. The QUBE Effect is an innovative youth music program that provides online and live promotional opportunities and economic outcomes for emerging and professional Brisbane musicians.
Across 10 hours and two locations, catch 24 acts performing live on Saturday 1 April at King George Square from 11am-4pm and the Queen Street Mall from 4-9pm. Acts will also record a video clip utilising a cutting edge robotic camera system or in 360 degrees. Along with prizes and professional development, this year selected acts will have the opportunity to perform at Council’s showcase at BIGSOUND 2017.

There will be a range of prizes awarded as part of The QUBE Effect. Prizes include up to five acts will be selected to perform at Council’s stage at BIGSOUND 2017 and more.
The winner of the Innovation Award will win two day tickets to Woodford Folk Festival 2017 and a mentoring session with an artist from the program, pending availability.
Best original song
Winner of the best original song will win a one day recording session at QUT’s state of the art recording studios.
Green Jam award
The Green Jam award winner will win a paid performance at QPAC’s Gig on the Green (to the value of $800).
People’s Choice Award
From Monday 24 April - Monday 8 May 2017, you’ll be able to view the film clips recorded and cast your vote on Council’s Facebook page for The QUBE Effect People’s Choice Award. The winner will take home $2000 cash, four mobile phone handsets to the value of $1000 each and a paid performance prize at Jungle Love Festival 2017.

Lord Mayor's City Hall Concert award
One lucky entrant will receive Brisbane City Council’s Lord Mayor’s City Hall Concert paid performance prize.
