Green waste: Free drop-off weekend

Prepare your home for summer storms with Council's free green waste drop-off weekends!

Make the most of our free green waste recycling event to ensure you correctly dispose of your household garden waste.

The 2026 free green waste drop-off weekends will be held on:

• Saturday 8 and Sunday 9 August
• Saturday 12 and Sunday 13 September
• Saturday 10 and Sunday 11 October.

The resource recovery centres are open from 6.30am to 5.45pm every day, located at:

• 728 Tilley Road, Chandler
• 101 Upper Kedron Road, Ferny Grove
• 1372 Nudgee Road, Nudgee Beach
• 360 Sherbrooke Road, Willawong.

Acceptable green waste includes:

• branches
• grass clippings
• loose bark
• palm fronds
• pruning from shrubs, trees and weeds.

Outside of these dates, residents can use their waste vouchers or their green waste recycling bin to dispose of garden waste.
