Lord Mayor's City Hall Concerts presents Australian Army Band: A Tribute to The Great Big Band Era.

Join the Australian Army Band Brisbane as they present a concert at the Lord Mayor’s City Hall Concert. This special performance pays homage to the golden age of swing, celebrating the unforgettable music of Frank Sinatra and Ella Fitzgerald.

The full 22‑piece ensemble, supported by a selection of outstanding vocalists, will bring classic big band hits to life - delivering iconic swing standards with the richness of a traditional big‑band sound.

Since its formation in 1949, the Australian Army Band Brisbane has provided ceremonial and musical support to the Australian Army and greater Australian Defence Force throughout South East Queensland as well as overseas; with some members having been deployed operationally. You can see the band regularly supporting commemorative activities such as Anzac Day and performing at community events, major concerts and charity fundraisers.

The Australian Army Band Brisbane features a traditional big band line-up of saxophones, trumpets, trombones and rhythm section, complemented by a range of vocalists. You can expect to hear music from the traditional sounds of the big band era through to versions of contemporary rock and pop hits.

This Lord Mayor's City Hall Concert is produced by Anje West.
