Meanjin (Brisbane) has a history of droughts and floods as old as time. More recent history, since colonialisation, has recorded a number of significant floods, but also some very significant droughts. Through them all, the City Botanic Gardens has been a guardian of important plant collections. We take you on a journey to discover the history of these extreme events and how the gardens have survived them. We will also explore the future impacts of weather extremes and why the CBG is so important in this understanding.
