Peter and the Wolf
Join Queensland Symphony Orchestra for a varied and exciting program, introducing young ears to the sounds of the symphony orchestra.
The centrepiece of the concert is Prokofiev's classic musical tale, Peter and the Wolf. Each character in the piece is represented in music by a different instrument in this charming story of a courageous young boy who sets out to catch a wolf: a bluebird is identified by a delicate tune in the flute, a cat by the slinky clarinet, a duck by the oboe, Peter’s grandfather by the bassoon, the wolf by the horns, and the hunters by percussion.
The perfect musical tour of the orchestra for young ears!
