Add a taste of the Australian bush to your festive season. Explore the Tulla-yugaipa dhagun track (place of useful plants) with environment centre staff on a short walk showcasing some native plants once used by local Indigenous and colonial people, and their surprising uses.

Afterwards enjoy a short tasting session of foods with native plant ingredients, and discover some of the native plants suitable for growing in Brisbane backyards and balconies.

Please note, collecting plants is not permitted within this protected conservation reserve.

This activity is for the general public. If you are a daycare or vacation group interested in attending a similar activity, please send an email.

Boondall Wetlands Environment Centre is a collection point for Brisbane City Council’s Free Native Plants Program. Check your eligibility and requirements online, and bring along your paid rates notice or written authority from the current financial year to collect 2 free native plants.

Note: All outdoor events are subject to weather and environmental conditions and may be cancelled on the day. This activity will be adapted for indoor delivery if required.
