The Recovered Futures Art Exhibition has been a mainstay on the Brisbane art calendar for 35 years. Hosted in a grand marquee during Queensland Mental Health Week, the exhibition will return to King George Square from 9-14 October 2026.
This professionally curated exhibition showcases more than 250 artworks by artists with lived experience of mental health challenges, sharing powerful stories of recovery, resilience, and hope.
Every exhibiting artist in the Recovered Futures Art Exhibition has a lived experience of mental ill-health, either personally or through their roles as a carer or family member. Their artworks reflect powerful stories of resilience, recovery, and hope.
Artists receive 85 per cent of sale proceeds from each sale, ensuring they are directly supported through their creative work.
While Recovered Futures provides an important platform for artists to sell their work and gain recognition, its impact reaches far beyond the gallery walls. For many participants, the act of creating and exhibiting art is a vital part of their healing journey, offering empowerment, connection, and a voice through which to share their experiences of recovery.
The exhibition also plays a significant role in sparking meaningful conversations and challenging the stigma that too often surrounds mental health.
We hope to see you there!
