As part of RQAS Workshop Festival, Clare Purser, a Brisbane-based Artist and Art Educator, is hosting an Abstracting the Landscape workshop.
Taking a fast and loose approach to painting, this is a great course for those wanting to pursue a more intuitive direction in their painting practice. Participants will look at ways to abstract from the landscape using visual material gathered from either photos, sketches or studies. By the end of this course, participants will have learnt how a painting can evolve and change and doesn’t have to be pre-planned. They will learn how through the process of abstraction, you can create paintings that are evocative and suggestive of landscape without being overly descriptive.
This workshop is best suited for those 18 years old and above with medium experience. For more information about the workshop and material list, visit Humanitix.
Please note: This workshop will be held in the main gallery which is wheelchair accessible.
Free entry to the exhibition, running Wednesday to Sunday 10am to 3:30pm.
