A unique celebration of country music and opera, featuring arias and songs by Puccini, Verdi, Slim Dusty, Troy Cassar-Daly, Dolly Parton and more. A cast of young Australian singers are set to perform with soaring harmonies, masterful musicianship and an irresistible energy.

Returning for a third season, Are You Lonesome Tonight is Opera Queensland’s most successful regional tour in its 40-year history, and marks the company’s first national tour. In 2026, this foot-stomping production comes to Brisbane Festival for five performances in the iconic Magic Mirrors Spiegeltent, at the heart of Festival Village in South Bank.

This is opera like you’ve never seen it before — bold, adventurous, and full of heart.
