Join us for a free family-friendly tree planting event and help make Cannon Hill greener, cooler and more walkable. You will have the opportunity to plant trees in your local street and help grow our urban forest. Get to know your neighbours whilst beautifying your local area.
New street trees are carefully chosen to suit the site and local area. Planting holes will be dug beforehand, and all tools will be supplied.
This is a great opportunity for children and adults alike to learn about the trees being planted and the important role they play in creating cooler streets, supporting local wildlife and benefiting future generations.
As a thank you for participating, enjoy a free sausage sizzle after planting and take home a free native plant.
What to bring: For your comfort and safety, participants are encouraged to wear sturdy shoes, a hat, and sunscreen, and to bring a reusable water bottle.
Streets to be planted include: Aster Street, Beauvardia Street, Blackwood Avenue, Camelia Street, Dahlia Street, Duke Street, Erica Street, Goolara Street, Imperial Avenue, Lang Street, Molloy Road, Montfort Street, Narela Street, Prince Street, Princess Street, Richmond Road and Stanton Street.
Further details: Meet at Regent Park (corner of Wynnum Road and Rossiter Street), Cannon Hill. Participants are encouraged to arrive by 9am for the welcome and briefing.
