As a part of the RQAS Workshop Festival, participants are invited to the workshop: Everyday Nature Sketchbook, run by artist Deb Mostert.
This workshop focuses on developing a daily habit of nature drawing within the pages of a sketchbook. Using a simple, portable kit of materials, participants are encouraged to take an opportunistic approach to observing and sketching the natural world, fostering creative habits grounded in observation, discovery, and wonder.
A range of drawing exercises will be introduced to build skills and confidence. The workshop explores the versatility of pen, ink, and watercolour as fast and engaging mediums for recording observations. Participants will experiment with mark making and work with both soluble and non‑soluble inks, complemented by quick watercolour washes and glazes. Subject matter will include found objects, taxidermy specimens, and outdoor field studies.

Please note: This workshop will be held in the upstairs studio gallery which is only accessible via a flight of stairs.
Free entry to the exhibition, running Wednesday to Sunday 10am to 3:30pm.
