Gathering - Merindi & Merindi

Gathering presents Merindi & Merindi. Merindi has a songwriter's heart. Her debut performance was at Woodford Folk Festival 2022 followed by her first ever performance at the Sydney Opera House in May 2024. At the age of 10, Merindi is already winning the hearts of local audiences in Jinibara, Gimuy and Kabi Kabi countries with her pure vocals and multi layered lyrics that are grounded in her truth, guided by her 2 cultures Yalanji Bama (Daintree Rainforest Region) and Motu (PNG). Join us on the main stage of Queen Street Mall from 12 noon-1pm to enjoy the melodic sounds of Merindi. This Gathering event is produced by Cre8tiveNations. Gathering showcases Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander performances in the Queen Street Mall. Unique to Brisbane, it is the only Indigenous performance in Australia that is featured weekly in the heart of a major capital city.
