Brisbane City Council’s Outdoor Gallery transforms Brisbane’s laneways into imaginative, curious, and engaging spaces. Comprising of light boxes, banner, vitrines and evening projections.

About the Artist: Phoebe Paradise

Phoebe Paradise is an artist, muralist, fashion designer and musician based in Meanjin (Brisbane). Inspired by subtropical punk and rock n roll, she has worked with Splendour in the Grass, Laneway Festival, BIGSOUND, 4ZZZ, Museum of Brisbane, Amnesty International, The Lifted Brow, QLD Music Festival and countless venues and bands around Australia.

About the Artwork: 'Subtropical Surreal'

Subtropical Surreal is a dreamy, animated miscellany of domestic tableaux; magnifying the private, surreal moments of living with a city that is constantly renegotiating its spatial relationship with the natural subtropical environment.

This project is supported by the Queensland Government through Arts Queensland.

Location: Howard Smith Wharves Art Projection (see location on Outdoor Gallery maps).
