Outdoor Gallery: Online Curator Tour of Council's ‘AMPLIFY ME!’ Exhibition

Join curator Nicole Crosswell for an online tour of AMPLIFY ME!, Brisbane City Council's Outdoor Gallery exhibition.

This special online event offers audiences a deeper look at the artworks, curatorial premise and the artists behind the exhibition. Through guided commentary and visual documentation, Nicole will share how AMPLIFY ME! transforms the city into a public gallery, bringing contemporary art, lived experience and inclusive storytelling into everyday urban spaces.

Curated with the artists and focused on amplifying their voices, the exhibition explores how public space can serve as a platform for visibility, access and creative agency. Installed across light boxes, banners, laneways and key CBD locations, AMPLIFY ME!  invites audiences to encounter art beyond traditional gallery walls, creating new points of connection between artists, communities and the city.

During the online tour, Nicole will share the ideas that shaped the exhibition, the process of developing works for outdoor presentation and the stories embedded within each artwork. The event will also reflect on the artists’ practices, the significance of presenting work in public spaces and the broader impact of the project as a model for future inclusive and accessible public art initiatives.

As AMPLIFY ME! continues in the public realm, this event offers a chance to deepen your understanding of the exhibition while it is still on display across the city. This project is helping to pave the way for greater visibility in both the art world and public realm, demonstrating how public-facing cultural opportunities can become meaningful sites for representation, dialogue and cultural participation.
