Join us for a free talk with platypus expert Dr Tamielle Brunt as part of PlatyMonth this August.
Dr Tamielle Brunt is an ecologist whose research focuses on platypus populations in southeast Queensland, working to understand their populations and raise their conservation profile. She is also the Projects Coordinator at Wildlife Queensland, where for more than a decade she has led the regional environmental DNA (eDNA) monitoring program, collaborating with communities and stakeholders to track local platypus populations.
Through her research, advocacy, and on-ground conservation work, Tamielle aims to strengthen protection for this iconic species and the freshwater ecosystems they depend on across Queensland.
In her talk, Tamielle will dive into every aspect of the platypus — from their ecology and behaviour to the conservation efforts underway locally and statewide.
