About the book This is Kay Saunders, Raymond Evan and Kathryn Cronin’s fourth edition of what has become a classic study in our understanding of Australian colonial and race relations history. Originally well ahead of the game in interrogating Queensland's racist past, the book now appears anew to mark its fiftieth anniversary. First published in 1975 during a cresting wave of anti-racist and anti-imperial activism, it has demonstrated across five decades its longevity and relevance as a landmark work. About Raymond Historian and Adjunct Professor, University of Queensland. Specialist in the histories of Queensland, race relations, welfare and radicalism. Author of many books, including A History of Queensland, Race Relations in Colonial Queensland, and Radical Brisbane: An Unruly History. Raymond will be joined in conversation with local writer, editor and researcher Melanie Myers, author of Meet Me at Lennon's .
