Join us at Boondall Wetlands Environment Centre this Science Week for an engaging talk exploring the unique biology of the platypus. Hear from a University of Sydney researcher as they uncover the secrets of peptide research and understanding platypus venom.

Presented by the ARC Centre of Excellence for Innovations in Peptide and Protein Science.

About the Scientist:

Adele Gonsalvez (PhD Student) is using a variety of ‘omics resources to investigate the unique genes, peptides and traits of Australia’s monotremes. This work particularly focuses on the characterisation and functional investigation of platypus venom and monotreme-specific genes, aiming to discover novel components and their functions to better understand these animals.

Parking and facilities: Free public carparking. Public toilets next to the environment centre.
