South Brisbane Cemetery 'guardian angels' grave cleaning day

Come and be part of our monthly South Brisbane Cemetery ‘guardian angels’ grave cleaning day on Sunday 2 November!

We’d love for you to join us as we help care for this historic site by tidying graves, clearing paths, and sprucing up the grounds.

Drop in anytime between 9am-3pm. Arrive when you can, leave when you need, and stay for as long or as little as you'd like. Whether you're an experienced volunteer or a first-timer, we’ll provide cleaning advice and equipment if needed. If you can, please bring along any of the following: a spray bottle, a soft hand brush (not metal), a broom, a bucket, gloves, a hat - and a few friends!

There’s plenty to do, from gentle grave washing to light gardening and litter collection. It’s a rewarding, family-friendly activity, and as many of our volunteers say, it’s surprisingly enjoyable. You’ll leave knowing you've done something meaningful for Brisbane’s heritage, all while spending time in a peaceful and historic setting.

We’ll also have drinks and snacks to keep you going.  We’d love to see you there - come along and be part of something special!
