Southside Mabo Promotional Day

Mabo Day is an annual community celebration on June 3, commemorates Eddie Koiki Mabo and the historic 1992 High Court decision overturning terra nullius. It honors the Meriam man's fight for land rights, recognizing Torres Strait Islander and Aboriginal people as traditional owners. Anyone is welcome to join in the celebration.
