BrisAsia Festival 2026 presents Strings and Stories: Traditional music for kids

Discover the captivating sounds of traditional music in this immersive 45-minute workshop. Led by experienced artists from Nexus Arts, participants will explore the Guzheng ( Chinese zither) with Zhao Liang and Shamisen ( Japanese fretless lute) with Noriko Tadano - discover how they both tell stories of cultures, nature and stories of festivals, including Lunar new year.

This is a beautiful enriching cultural experience brings melody and storytelling together. Encounter these beautiful instruments up close, learn about their history, and uncover how their distinctive sounds are created — woven together to connect culture, time, and space through music.

Perfect for ages 6+ – families are welcome to explore this beautiful musical tradition together.
