The Anishaman Presents Gilgamesh is a live one-man rap retelling of Gilgamesh blending live oral storytelling with animation and mobile interactivity.
Throughout the show, the audience members can interact with the narrative by voting in live polls. These results are displayed live to offer a grander sense of communal storytelling.
The story follows King Gilgamesh’s desperate obsession with achieving an eternal name. This compulsion fuels him to furiously construct the world’s grandest city regardless of the human and environmental costs. However, when the gods intervene by sending the wild man Enkidu as his animistic counterbalance, Gilgamesh is forced to question his place in the world.
