The buzz about native bees

Pollination is the essential step in producing next season’s plants. The flowering plants dominate our vegetation and rely on ‘help’ with this process; birds, bees and even humans (bearing genes) play a role here. Some plants have specialist pollinators and may be restricted to just one species of insect.

What happens when we move these plants to a new, distant location? What happens when we produce acreage of one species of plant? Take a look at some active pollinators in the garden.

Requirements: Please wear a hat, enclosed walking shoes, and be sure to bring a water bottle and sunscreen.
