Light up a Council asset

Brisbane City Council has a number of assets that can be lit up to promote major festivals and events, community awareness campaigns or cultural festivals, including:

  • Brisbane City Hall
  • Story Bridge
  • Victoria Bridge
  • the Reddacliff Place Steam sculptures
  • Tropical Dome
  • Wickham Terrace Car Park.

Light up fees

No charges apply for an approved Light Up application where eligibility requirements and criteria have been met. Exceptions may apply.

Light up application process

The application process varies depending on the Council asset. Please see links below for relevant conditions, eligibility and criteria for each asset.

Applications can be made up to twelve months in advance. Applications are processed in the order they are received and are assessed against the eligibility requirements and criteria

The Lighting of Council assets are reserved for significant local, state or national events or awareness campaigns that:

  • have a Brisbane-wide audience; or
  • benefit all Brisbane residents; or
  • attract 10,000 participants; or
  • are a national event represented in multiple states.
