Queen Street Mall – Milano building removal works
Under Council’s new City to South Bank Vision, Queen Street Mall (QSM) will be decluttered and the Milano restaurant structure will be demolished and removed.

About the project
In order to create a more seamless visitor experience between the QSM and South Bank, and improve connectivity, the existing Milano restaurant complex was demolished and removed from the Mall.
Project details
As part of these works, we:
- demolished the Milano restaurant structure
- demolished the planter box adjacent to Milano on the George Street side
- modified the planter box adjacent to Milano on the Albert Street side
- capped the existing services, as required
- relocated the existing services to suitable alternative locations
- relocated the mall surfacing following demolition works.
