Council's Active and Healthy program offers a wide range of activities designed to help you move more, connect with others and enjoy Brisbane’s outdoor lifestyle. All activities are open to residents of all ages, experience levels and abilities.

You’ll find free and low-cost:

  • group sessions like Zumba, dance and aqua classes
  • wellness workshops and guided walks
  • activities for kids and families
  • inclusive options for seniors and people with disability.

There’s an activity that suits every pace.

We know that cost, time and motivation can be barriers. That’s why:

  • activities are free or low-cost
  • events run across Brisbane, close to home
  • no experience is needed – just come as you are.

We honour the Queensland Government Companion Card for free participation by support persons.

Some activities require bookings – check the calendar and book early to avoid missing out.

On the day, wear sun protection, comfortable clothing and suitable footwear, and bring drinking water.

Register your interest to become an Active and Healthy provider

Council is currently seeking expressions of interest from experienced and inclusive providers in the areas of: dance for teens, seniors and all ages, physical games for teens, Traditional Indigenous Games, abseiling, rock climbing, stand-up paddle boarding, kayaking, aqua aerobics, nutritious cooking classes, group fitness, boxing, Pilates, roller skating, ice skating, skateboarding, scooter, group sports and activities that can be offered on weekends.
