Planning assessment report

All applications need to include a planning report.

Applications are assessed in accordance with the requirements of the Planning Act 2016 (PA) and of Brisbane City Plan 2014. The purpose of the planning report is to detail how the project fits with these requirements, including information about the zoning, any neighbourhood plans or overlays and the outcomes expressed in the development codes and other relevant codes such as prescribed secondary codes.

If your proposal does not fit with the acceptable outcomes, you will need to demonstrate how it meets the relevant performance outcomes. Please note that there is no 'relaxation' of an acceptable outcome.

It is advisable that you engage a private consultant to prepare the planning report for you. Some applications are able to be fast-tracked using Council's RiskSMART service.

For more information about preparing your planning report, contact Council.
