Brisbane: Our Productive City

Brisbane City Council has released Brisbane: Our Productive City to outline our strategy to improve and adapt how industrial areas are used to remain globally competitive.

This strategy combines industry and community feedback with Council’s policy of delivering industrial land to meet demand and enabling industrial precincts to advance, renew and evolve.

Our plan to unlock growth in Brisbane’s industrial economy is based on four key principles:

  • unlocking opportunity
  • creating great places
  • culture of innovation
  • environment to prosper.

Council’s approach is to ensure we support industry through adapting selected areas for higher value industry, employment opportunities and non-industrial activities.

Land that does not have long term value for industrial purposes will transition to other uses, and strategically important industrial land will be renewed with a focus on future demand and improved amenity for workers.

Our strategy will result in the transformation of Brisbane’s industrial areas.
