Runcorn Pool, located behind Runcorn State High School, has great facilities including:

a heated, outdoor, 25 metre, lap pool
a heated, 14 metre, indoor, leisure therapy pool with ramp access
a children’s pool with waterslide (closed in winter).

You can swim for fun, or swim laps for fitness, or take part in swimming lessons.

Outdoor amenities block - construction works

Works to reinstate the outdoor amenities block are anticipated to start mid-August 2023, with the new amenities block re-opening late 2023, site conditions permitting. Works to the internal amenities block will follow with completion anticipated for December 2023.

Construction works will take place between 6.30am and 6.30pm, Monday to Saturday. You may experience some construction impacts associated with these works, including minor noise, and vibration.

While the Runcorn Pool will be operating as usual, the outdoor amenities block will remain closed until works are complete. You can follow signs to alternative amenities provided:

$2 Summer Dips initiative

To make Council’s pools more affordable, Council has reduced general entry fees for summer. From 1 December 2023 to 29 February 2024, $2 fees will apply to general admissions. Terms and conditions apply.

Conditions of entry

Children 10 years of age or younger must be accompanied by a supervising person 18 years of age or older. Parents with children five years and under must be in the water with their child within arm's reach at all times.

Concession means the holder of a Pensioner Concession Card issued by Centrelink or a Gold Card issued by the Department of Veterans' Affairs.

All Council pools now honour the Queensland Government Companion Card, allowing free entry for anyone accompanying a person with disability who requires attendant care support.

When by the pool with your kids Keep watch @ public pools recommends:

for zero-five year olds and non-swimmers, a parent or guardian must be in the water at all times within arms' reach of the child/non-swimmer
for six-10 year olds, constant active supervision is required by a parent or guardian. Be prepared to get wet and enter the water with this age group
for 11-14 year olds, parents or guardians must physically check on children on a regular basis.
