Proud Yolngu man, renowned artist, and 2019 Young Australian of the Year, Danzal Baker OAM, also known as Baker Boy, originates from Milingimbi and Maningrida in North-East Arnhem Land. Since his breakout in 2017 with Cloud 9, Baker Boy has captivated the Australian music scene with his infectious optimism, passion for music and dance, and deep cultural roots.

Becca Hatch is a proud Kamilaroi/Samoan artist whose soulful fusion of R&B, electronic and dance-pop has positioned her as one of Australia’s most compelling and fast-rising voices. An ARIA-nominated artist and 2024 NIMA Award winner for Best Breakthrough Artist, her music is defined by its emotional depth. In 2026, she enters a bold new chapter with the Black Flower Project, an evolving body of work exploring growth, self-discovery and the experience of taking up space as a young Aboriginal/Samoan woman.

Halfway was formed in 2000 by John Busby, Elwin Hawtin, Ben Johnson and Chris Dale in Windsor, Brisbane. Dublin-born brothers Noel Fitzpatrick (pedal steel) and Liam Fitzpatrick (banjo/mandolin) joined in 2003. The lineup was later rounded out by two former members of The Go-Betweens, John Willsteed (lead guitar) in 2010 and Adele Pickvance (vocals and keys) in 2026. Their debut album Farewell to the Fainthearted was released in 2003 to warm critical acclaim. The band has toured nationally and their single Patience Back received high rotation airplay on triple j. 

RINSE, the solo project of Melbourne-based artist Joe Agius, is best known as a member, producer, and co-writer of Hatchie. In RINSE, Agius takes center stage, presenting meticulously written pop songs dressed with dream-pop instrumentation and 80s post-punk drums, likening them to the golden era of The Cure, My Bloody Valentine, and Echo and the Bunnymen.

Minor Premiers are a much-loved indie-rock/pop band based in Brisbane. They formed off the back of acclaimed singer/songwriter Luke Daniel Peacock’s desire to make music like Yuck, Smudge, The Lemonheads and Dinosaur Jr. Their debut album Sheets In The Garden, received glowing reviews and high praise, landing Minor Premiers into a bunch of charts, TV shows and playlists.

This young band out of the Sunshine Coast are starting to gain attention much further from home. Karma Police are a four-piece alt-rock band with a grunge-inspired, post-punk sound. Still in their mid-teens, echoes of early Pixies, Radiohead and Smashing Pumpkins sit behind a timeless melancholy that somehow comes across as energised, fresh and new.

Their debut EP, pale and blue, was released this year, with a sell-out show on the Sunny Coast to celebrate the launch. It seems this might be a sign of things to come.

Since forming in Brisbane Australia in 2019, Radium Dolls have built their reputation as a live band first: touring relentlessly, playing anywhere that would have them, and letting word of mouth do the rest. Oscillating between bravado and fragile, it is raw and honest music that is designed to be cranked loud and thrashed live. Their sophomore album Wound Up (2026) debuted at number two on the ARIA Australian Album Chart. Across their two EPs and two albums, it is evident that sitting neatly in one genre has never been their intention.

Fronted by Jabirr Jabirr man Loki Liddle, Selve are breaking ground and crushing milestones at every turn. After recording their sophomore album Breaking Into Heaven at the legendary Abbey Road Studios and releasing it to widespread acclaim from triple j, Rage, Rolling Stone, The Music, Back Seat Mafia (UK) and more 2026 started hot, with the band securing support slots for Radium Dolls and festival appearances at Lost Paradise and Spilt Milk. Selve continue to cement their reputation as one of the most exciting live acts out of Australia, a powerhouse alt-rock outfit carving their own rare path.

Babyshakes Dillon is the formidable frontwoman of Full Flower Moon Band. Full Flower Moon Band have emerged from the Brisbane underground to become one of Australia’s most fiercest rock exports. After a whirlwind UK/EU tour, playing with The Foo Fighters and headlining The Tivoli, everyone agrees - Full Flower Moon Band know rock n roll.

Tear Drive are an alternative and indie rock band from Brisbane, composed of childhood friends Baxter Melrose, Gabe Kolakowski, Isaac Clark and Nic Pezzimenti. Known for their mesmeric live show, the four-piece have successfully cemented themselves as an act to watch, racking up sold-out headlines, spins on triple j, placements across Spotify, editorial playlists, and sharing stages alongside Keli Holiday, The Velvet Club and Bean Magazine.

Super Hotel is your Brisbane band for meanders, sits and stands. Their alternative country rock should palliate your ailments by its own sort of merry melancholy, like taking a jaunt by a rainy river or sharing a nod with your local bus driver. Formed from the remnants of beloved local acts Moonboot, Little Odessa, Golden Age of Ballooning and Babyshoes, Super Hotel is a new chapter for familiar faces. The group brings a thoughtful and gently offbeat approach to songwriting that nudges you out of the fast lane. Perfect for fans of Pavement, MJ Lenderman, Wednesday and Courtney Barnett, or really any of you cats ‘n’ dogs looking for a good sit at sunset.

Brisbane based artist Sarah Hamze is carving out her own space in Australia's alternative folk-rock scene, pairing dynamic vocals with shockingly honest lyrics and an alternative edge. Drawing inspiration from Alvvays, Suki Waterhouse, and Miley Cyrus, Sarah has spent the past few years performing across Brisbane at venues including The Triffid, Felons, Black Bear Lodge, The Brightside, and more. A finalist in The QUBE Effect 2026, she is quickly becoming a name to watch in the local music scene. With her debut EP set for release in early 2027, Sarah is only just getting started.

Sleepazoid are an alt-rock quintet comprising of vocalist and guitarist Nette France, bassist Josef Pabis, drummer and vocalist Luca Soprano, and dual guitarists’ George Inglis and Jim Duong. Fusing the raw energy of grunge, the atmospheric depth of shoegaze, and the driving rhythms of post punk, the collective offer a distinct and assured sound best exemplified in their self-recorded and produced 2024 debut, Running with the dogs.

Hailing from Melbourne’s bayside suburb of Frankston, The Gnomes are a teenage/early-20s four-piece delivering a feral, hook-heavy take on ‘60s beat, garage and power pop. Formed by singer-guitarist Jay Millar from a prolific Bandcamp bedroom project, the band quickly built local heat before their November 2025 self-titled debut drew international acclaim, earning four-star reviews in Mojo, Shindig! and Vive Le Rock. 

Platonic Sex catapulted into 2022 with the release of their debut EP Grip, which saw them named as triple j Unearthed Feature Artist and win the Carol Lloyd Award at the 2023 Queensland Music Awards. At the intersection of rock aesthetics and folk storytelling, the band's guitar-driven melodies cocoon lyrics that explore the duality of toughness and intimacy. Rinsing memories until the water runs clear, mining relationships for strands of truth, they hold space for audiences wading through their own twenty-something (and beyond) joys and tragedies.

Brisbane based Charlotte Meade dazzles with her unapologetically honest portrayal of moving to the big city, heartbreaks, haircuts, girlhood and the trials and tribulations of this collective ‘still life’. Defined by her unique tone, sentimental lyricism, and fuelled by copious cuppas and the power of friendship, Charlotte and her band aspire to foster connection through their deep appreciation of unguarded and vulnerable storytelling.
