Kangaroo Point Green Bridge

Following an extensive procurement process, Council has awarded the contract for the design and construction of the Kangaroo Point Green Bridge to Connect Brisbane, led by BESIX Watpac.

Connect Brisbane is a consortium of bridge design, engineering and construction specialists led by BESIX Watpac, who are head officed in Brisbane, and include Rizzani de Eccher, WSP, Dissing + Weitling, Blight Rayner, ASPECT Studios, Right Angle Studios and Rowland.

The consortium’s experience spans global and local projects including Perth’s signature Matagarup Bridge and Dubai’s landmark Water Canal Bridges.

Connect Brisbane will now work with Council to complete the detailed design and construction of the project.

Breakfast Creek Green Bridge

The Breakfast Creek Green Bridge will be delivered using a collaborative Early Tenderer Involvement (ETI) procurement process to select a contractor to undertake a construct only contract.

A formal Invitation for Expressions of Interest (EOI) for suitably experienced and qualified contractors was released via Council’s Supplier Portal on 14 September 2020.

Following the EOI process, in late November 2020, Council announced three shortlisted bid teams of Fulton Hogan, Georgiou Brady Joint Venture and JF Hull have progressed to the ETI phase.

A contract for the construction of the Breakfast Creek Green Bridge is expected to be awarded in early 2022, subject to approvals.
