Beams Road upgrade – Night works

What works are coming up?

Nightworks to complete essential activities outside of peak traffic hours will take place between Cowie Road and Balcara Avenue.

New traffic arrangements will be put in place to redirect traffic to the southern lanes of Beams Road to complete stormwater and pavement construction works in the northern lanes.

Please follow the direction of traffic controllers and signage when travelling through the work area.

When will this work take place?

Works will take place Sunday 28 April to Thursday 16 May 2024, Sunday to Thursday, 7pm to 5am.

All construction works are subject to weather and site conditions.

What does this work include?

  • Night works will include, stormwater upgrades, electrical installations, traffic signal loop installation, minor asphalt and line marking activities.
  • Traffic will be redirected into the two southern lanes. 
  • Energex will continue to undertake their works along the corridor during both day and night works. Energex will notify impacted residents.

What does this mean for me?

  • Motorists travelling east towards Carseldine railway station, will follow the bollards into the temporary southern traffic lane.
  • Motorists travelling west towards Gympie Road will continue in the southern kerbside lane.
  • Resident driveway access between Dorville Road and Balcara Avenue, will continue to be left-in / left-out only. There will be reduced speed limits, lane closures, changes to traffic flow and short-term traffic disruptions.

How might this work impact me?

  • Noise, dust, and vibration: temporary noise, dust and vibration may be experienced from these construction activities.
  • Lighting: temporary lighting towers are required to light work areas at night to ensure worker safety.
  • Pedestrian detours: will be in place throughout the work area, please follow the direction of signage and traffic controllers.
  • Temporary driveway restrictions: short periods of changed or closed access may be required. Impacted residents will be notified.
