Moggill Road Corridor Upgrade project stage 1 - December 2023 update

What works are coming up?

As part of the Moggill Road Corridor Upgrade Project, piling works are required for the construction of the new bridge connection at Coonan Street.

Piles are columns of steel or concrete that is drilled into the ground to provide support for a structure such as a bridge or retaining wall.

When will this work take place?

Works will take place from Monday 8 January for approximately 2 weeks, weather and site conditions pending.

Day worksWorks will be carried out Monday to Saturday from 7am to 6am.
Night worksWorks will be carried out Sunday to Thursday from 7.30pm to 5.30am.

What does this work include?

The following works will be undertaken:

  • drilling to create the pile shaft
  • removal of excess material
  • installation of steel ground anchor
  • placement of concrete
  • traffic management.

How might this work impact me?

  • Noise, dust and vibration: these works will generate noise and vibrations that some residents may experience.
  • Temporary lighting: lighting towers are required to be used to light work areas at night to ensure worker safety.
  • Traffic control: reduced speed limits, lane closures, changes to traffic flow and short-term traffic disruptions.
  • Possible traffic delays: plan ahead and allow additional travel time.

Temporary traffic changes

Due to the proximity of works to Moggill Road and to ensure the safety of motorists and workers, one of the left turn lanes on Moggill Road inbound at the temporary signals with Coonan Street will be closed temporarily until Monday 22 January 2024. Two right-turn lanes onto Coonan Street will remain in place.

Keating Street will be left turn in only from Coonan Street. The left-hand turn out of Keating Street onto Coonan will be closed. Please refer to the map over the page for further details.

Keating Street will remain a one-way street until the works are completed in mid 2024.
