King George Square Car Park
King George Square Car Park is located underground between Ann and Adelaide Streets, Brisbane, next to City Hall and is open seven days a week. Vehicle access is via entry and exit in Roma Street and entry only from Adelaide Street.
Brisbane City Council provides special offers at the King George Square and Wickham Terrace Car Parks.
King George Square Car Park facilities include:
- monthly pass cards
- overnight parking
- free electric vehicle recharge
- child/pram friendly parking bays
- disabled permit parking bays
- convenient entry and access to the CBD
Customers can now park their car in the city and recharge their car for free during business hours in one convenient location. King George Square Car Park is the only car park in the city with this facility which promotes the reduction of CO2 and pollution. Specially marked bays are located on Level B for this free Brisbane City Council service.
Tesla vehicles are able to use the free electric charging station. As this is not a Tesla charger, please see the car park attendant who can provide an adaptor that converts a type one plug to a type two (Mennekes) plug for charging.
Electric and hybrid vehicle discount
Drivers of full electric and hybrid vehicles pay half the casual parking fee during these hours:
- Monday to Thursday 5.30am - midnight
- all weekend - from 5.30am Friday to 11pm Sunday.
Entry tickets must be validated by staff during these times at the Roma Street office. A designated validation point is located on level B.
King George Square Car Park is open:
- Monday to Thursday - 5.30am to midnight
- all weekend - from 5.30am Friday to 11pm Sunday
- 24 hours Friday and Saturday nights.
The car park is locked after closing hours.
Early Bird parking is available in King George Square Car Park if you enter by 7am and exit between 1pm and 6pm.
The car park may be opened 24 hours at Council's discretion.
The car park is closed on Christmas Day and Good Friday. It is open on other public holidays from 7.30am to 11pm unless otherwise advised.
King George Square Car Park has two entry points and one exit at:
- Roma Street - entry and exit
- Adelaide Street - entry only
Vehicle height limit - 1.93 metres
Pedestrian entry and exit points (during business hours)
Pedestrians can access the car park from the King George Square stairs off Ann Street near the King George V Memorial and via pedestrian pathway onto Adelaide Street during opening hours.
Cash and credit card can be used at all automatic-pay stations. Credit cards can also be used at both Roma Street exit gates.
Automatic-pay stations are situated on level A (street level) and level B. The automatic-pay stations do not accept Diner Club cards.
Prepaid monthly pass card holders can swipe their card for access and exit.
