'Dichroic Filter Piece' (Detail) by Ross Manning
"In celebration of this year’s Brisbane Arts and Culture Innovation (BACI), we will be projecting Ross Manning’s Dichroic Filter Piece onto the William Jolly Bridge from 6-10 July 2019, 5:30-10pm nightly.
Ross Manning’s work deals with technology both old and new. “I'm interested in using these technologies we live our life with in new ways, and get them to do the things I want them to do. In a way, getting control back to a more personalised and idiosyncratic human fashion than the machine often allows.” Ross’s innovative thought process of celebrating technology in its varying forms is also shared through the wider Brisbane Creative Industries and BACI awards.
Ross Manning is a sound and new media artist living and working in Brisbane. His work is known for its engagement with technologies and ephemeral installations of movement, sound and coloured light.
This year’s BACI event will be held on Wednesday 10 July 2019.
