Or how artists and designers draw upon these for inspiration when creating artworks? These mindfulness walks show us how to slow down and see the detail and beauty throughout pockets of Brisbane City. In these sessions, you will be lead on a walking tour around Brisbane City, stopping by some key locations on the Outdoor Gallery route. On the tour, our horticulturalist Alister Murray will guide people on the plantings and micro-environments throughout the city, teaching them to take the time to relax, and smell the flowers. On this walk illustrator, textile designer and exhibiting artist Edith Rewa Barrett will provide an artist lens to the walk, talking about their practice, and the engagement with nature, discussing how she utilises walking and observation in nature as part of her practice and inspiration. Edith Rewa Barrett's work has been featured in the Design Files, Frankie Magazine, and illustrated the front cover of the Lost Flowers of Alice Hart. Tours start in the foyer of Museum of Brisbane, Level 3. Duration of tour: Approximately 45 minutes. Difficulty: This tour is suitable for most fitness levels and abilities.
