Brisbane Greeters program

Brisbane City Council is committed to offering Brisbane residents and visitors the opportunity to learn more about our city by providing free Brisbane Greeter tours.

After pausing in March 2020 due to coronavirus, the much-loved program recommenced in December 2020 and is playing an important role in the city's economic recovery by helping to promote Brisbane and its many attractions.

About our greeters

Our greeters embody the warmth and friendliness that Brisbane is recognised for and they have shared their passion for Brisbane with more than 80,000 people since the first tours in 2012.

One of the best ways to get to know Brisbane is through the eyes of a skilled and knowledgeable local. Our friendly greeters are proud and passionate volunteers who are keen to share Brisbane's stories, show you some great spots and introduce you to our vibrant city.

Whether you've been a local all your life, visiting family and friends, or calling Brisbane your new home, we're looking forward to meeting you. We have more than 100 greeters who can help you find your way in more than 20 languages.

Brisbane Greeters is a member of the International Greeter Association (IGA). All greeters around the world share the same core values. For more information visit the International Greeter Association (IGA) website.

Volunteer as a Brisbane Greeter

If you would like to volunteer as a Brisbane Greeter, please send your contact details, why you would like to be a Brisbane Greeter, and any languages spoken other than English, to our coordination team.

We are not currently recruiting, but we welcome your interest for future recruitment.
