Brisbane Greeters Program

Brisbane City Council is committed to offering Brisbane residents and visitors the opportunity to learn more about our city by providing free Brisbane Greeter tours.

After pausing the program in March 2020 due to coronavirus, the much-loved Brisbane Greeters Program recommences Friday 11 December 2020. The program will play a critical role in the city's economic recovery by helping to promote Brisbane and its many attractions.

Our Greeters embody the warmth and friendliness that Brisbane is recognised for, and over the past eight years, have shared their passion for Brisbane with more than 80,000 people.

One of the best ways to get to know Brisbane is through the eyes of a skilled and knowledgeable local. Our friendly Greeters are proud and passionate volunteers who are keen to share Brisbane's stories, show you some great sports and introduce you to our vibrant city.

Whether you've been a local all your life, visiting family and friends, or calling Brisbane your new home, we're looking forward to meeting you. We have more than 100 Greeters who can help you find your way in more than 20 languages.

The health and safety of our Greeters and participants remains our key priority. All greets are conducted within a COVID Safe environment.

The Brisbane Greeters Program will continue to:

  • run free walking tours
  • volunteer at Council events and festivals
  • extend its reach into our thriving suburbs, as well as Brisbane City.
