Brighton Foreshore Parklands project - Brighton
The next stage of the Brighton Foreshore Parklands project will soon get underway, with construction commencing at the 12th and 19th Avenue recreation areas.
The Brighton Foreshore Upgrade is part of our long-term commitment to creating an accessible parkland for everyone to enjoy.
Community feedback has shaped every step, ensuring the upgrade keeps the foreshore’s relaxed, natural character while adding modern amenities.
Early works completed in January 2026. These works delivered 3 new picnic settings and trial landscape treatments to help guide future erosion‑management measures.
Works at the 12th and 19th Avenue recreation areas will start in April 2026 and be finished by December 2026, subject to weather and site conditions.
As part of the recreation area upgrades at 12th and 19th Avenue, we will:
- build new accessible paths and improve access to the foreshore
- install shaded picnic areas and BBQs
- deliver a beach access ramp
- add new seating, bike racks and drinking fountains
- undertake tree planting and landscaping
- install interpretive information signs
- construct a new amenities block, including accessible toilet, at 19th Avenue.
The project is funded by the Australian Government’s Priority Community Infrastructure Program.
