Illaweena Street improvements project - Stretton

Link copied

We’ve completed works to construct a new car park on Illaweena Street for better access to Stretton State College Primary Campus.

The completed works included:

  • construction of a new 54‑space car park on Illaweena Street
  • extension of the right‑turn pocket on Illaweena Street to increase capacity at the intersection with Gowan Road
  • installation of a new traffic island in the centre of Illaweena Street
  • installation of yellow no stopping lines on both sides of Illaweena Street to improve safety and traffic flow
  • construction of a new footpath linking the car park to Gowan Road.

These improvements have enhanced safety for all road users and improved access and parking for parents, carers and visitors to the school.

The Illaweena Street improvements project was jointly funded by Brisbane City Council and the Queensland Government through the Queensland Transport and Roads Investment Program.
