Shafston Avenue Bikeway - Kangaroo Point

We’re planning upgrades to improve walking and riding along Shafston Avenue. The upgrades run from Deakin Street in Kangaroo Point to Mowbray Park in East Brisbane.

We have released the preliminary design for the Shafston Avenue Bikeway. This project is part of stage 3 of the CityLink Cycleway and will help make riding, walking and scooting in Brisbane easier and safer.

This 1.2 kilometre upgrade along Shafston Avenue, from Deakin Street to Mowbray Park, will improve the connection between the eastern suburbs and the CBD via the Kangaroo Point Bridge. The upgrade, once complete will provide a two-way bikeway and separate footpath, giving everyone their own space to move comfortably and safely.

The Shafston Avenue Bikeway project is proudly supported by the Queensland Government’s Cycle Network Local Government Grant program.
