We’re planning upgrades to improve walking and riding along Shafston Avenue. The upgrades run from Deakin Street in Kangaroo Point to Mowbray Park in East Brisbane.
We have released the preliminary design for the Shafston Avenue Bikeway. This project is part of stage 3 of the CityLink Cycleway. It will make riding, walking and scooting in Brisbane easier and safer.
This 1.2-kilometre upgrade runs along Shafston Avenue, from Deakin Street to Mowbray Park. The upgrade will improve connections between the eastern suburbs and the CBD. It will also improve access to the Kangaroo Point Bridge.
The upgrade will provide a two-way bikeway and a separate footpath. This will give people their own space to walk and ride safely. It will also make it easier to move through the area.
The Shafston Avenue Bikeway project is proudly supported by the Queensland Government’s Cycle Network Local Government Grant program.
